Roof Shingle Defect

If you notice that your roof shingles are rapidly wearing prematurely, or perhaps detaching from your house after the recent wind storms we have had, there is a good reason for it. If you Google ‘CertainTeed Class Action Lawsuit’ you will find information about the national class action lawsuit being generated against CertainTeed for defective shingles. The houses on the East side of Beach Street and beyond were built by Meadow homes, and the roof was installed by B & M Roofing (Frederick, CO) who used CertainTeed organic shingles. B & M Roofing can provide you with a CertainTeed warranty form, however this will only cover the material cost of the shingles. B & M Roofing estimated that the installation cost for our house would be $4,420. You can try to claim this with your home owners insurance; however ours, Shelter Insurance, denied the claim by reason of manufacturer defect.
If your roof is in the same situation as ours I urge you to take action by voicing your complaint to CertainTeed (via letter or warranty form to B & M Roofing) and also contacting the supporting sites listed below:
